    Hi

I transfer videos for people from time to time and i'm looking to provide an editable version for them that's not avi but can be edited on the widest variety of suites possible.

So far, I've taken my dvd and using tmpgenc 4 express, ive created two files as per seetings in the iamge attached (video mpeg2 and audio mp1). The problem is that the resuting file3s could not be played in say windows movie maker or pinnacle - two i guess pretty common types of software that many clents would have ( i.e not tmpgencs dvd authoring software). I did also manage to play them in premiere 6 but the resutling edite avi file was jerky and unwatchable.

    So i have 2 questions!:
    1. what settings should i employ to get best fit with my non techy cliental!
    2. what 'free' editing software could i furthermore direct them too thereafter!

    cheers
