  2. This page should be helpful:
    http://www6.tomshardware.com/video/01q3/010801/index.html

For a clearer overview, go to the 'Summary Chart' page.

I used RT2500 with Premiere before, and it is horrible especially the installation process. The installation manual of Matrox is also confusing. But the picture quality is good and enable real-time editing if you install CORRECTLY. One step wrong will send you back to stone age!

Never use DV500, not sure how the system performs.

I'm currently doing research on these two cards as well as the Canopus DV-Storm and Pinnacle's Pro One. I'm terrified by what I've read in the DV-500 and RT-2500 user forums, but the DV Storm seems to rate very well (at a price though). The Pro One is the new kid on the lock and I haven't been able to find a review on it. If anyone has a link to one please post it. My recommendation is to check out the user forums. This should help you avoid the pitfalls that have be-fallen others. Hope this helps.

  4. I recently picked up a DC1000, and LOVE it. Installed very easily on my Win2K pro machine, works flawlessly. I'm using Premiere 6.0 to capture with as well.
One thing that seems odd to me however, is when Premiere is open it uses 300+ megs of RAM.. when I export, the most I've seen it use is 1.8 gigs.........
    weird.

  5. thanks for the replys guys keep them comin i've gone off the RT2500 at the moment after reading Tomshardware summary there seems to be a lot of compatability issues to be sorted the DC1000 may be a bit too pricy for me though i had thought about it to get my hands on Impression DVD-Pro DV500 may be winning at the moment,
