any program that can check if an MP3 is complete (not cut in the middle or before the song ends)...which can do it very fast for thousands of songs. it would take me days to finish if i listen to them one by one ...

any program that can do this?

    note:
let's limit our discussion with the program not with the MP3 please

i do not believe this is possible unless there is a master list of song lengths

I am not aware of any program that can do this, either singley, or in batch mode. How would it know whether or not the track had been cut ?

I edit a lot of tracks for my wife (she's a dance teacher), and all this editing is done before going to CD or being compressed. With most of them you would not be able to tell that there were edits made through listening or analysis of the wave form. The program would have to have a database containing all the songs ever encoded, and an image of the song recorded at all possible bitrates, and be able to make allowances for variance in things like pre or post track silence. I would not hold out too much hope of finding such a beast in the near future.

If "cut" means "missing bytes at the end", might it not be some size info in the header to compare actual size with? No, there is not, according to this. Interesting reading, nevertheless...

I can't think of any other way short of loading each and every MP3 into your MP3 software of choice and then moving the slider to the last 10 seconds or so of the song.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    that's what im doing jimmalenko...

my other technique is to load a certain number of mp3 in audacity and see which one has been cut in the end by looking at the "graph" (dont know what you call those). Audacity is quite slow though in loading mp3

thanks guys maybe there's a better solution somewhere...
