If you're buying legitimate commercial DVD's then the answer is neither. + or - is only for DVD's written by a DVD writer, unlike commercial pressed DVD's.

Hello,
DITTO! Movies bought legitimatelly are pressed in a factory to exacting specifications. Home burners use - or +r and are never 100% equal to the commercial ones. They are good but not exact (as far as what a dvd player knows what a dvd should look like).
KevinDonatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
