TMPGEnc vs. TMPGEnc Xpress

Please let me know the difference between TMPGEnc 2.58.44.152 vs. TMPGEnc Xpress 3.0 in terms of converting avi, mpg videos into m2v or other DVD files to prepare for authoring in an authoring program.

I took a look at both of them and always used TMPGEnc 2.58.44.152 to convert my files, and so when I saw Xpress 3.0 it looked like a similar program.

Does anyone have opinions on which is better? For example: quality in picture, sound, or anything else?

I did one movie on each and Xpress was twice as long encoding and it has a AC3 option (if you get the plug in).

Was the quality the same? Did the programs work similarly in methods to burn onto DVD?
