  1. I yesterday bought the LW-5005 Dvd Recorder/Player.
When I connected the unit up to my TV I noticed a problem - In the Top Left of the TV screen there was a dotted white line/band, accross about 50% of the width of the screen. The line is about 5mill thick and dotted. This line appears when ANYTHING is outputted from the LITEON DVD player. When I try anything else - another DVD player or my cable TV, straight to the TV this line DOES NOT appear - So it's not the TV.
I thought maybe a Firmware upgrade would fix this problem - but the website says I already have the latest version.
I have tried different Scart Cables.
    I have tried a S-Video cable.
I have tried to output a DVD I bought today, and also a rented one.
I have tried to output TV from a Cable TV input.
    Nothing works.
But, when I record from ANY source to the Liteon and play back the DVD in another machine - it has recorded faultlessly - WITHOUT the white dotted line/band. It seems to only appear when I use any of the outputs on the player.
The white dotted line is also NOT visable on any of the Liteon menu screens.

What is wrong with my Liteon player? It records fine but wont output properly.

    Any help appreciated

Here's an example of what it kinda looks like with an image I doctored:

  3. Thanks for the reply Hexxisoft. I'm just a little concerned whether if I get this one warrantied, whether I'm going to get another with the same problem....
