I am having a problem capturing a Sony 8mm tape thru my panasonic PV-852 camcorder using pass-thru. I captured 7 tapes, but the 8th tape is distorting and breaking apart wherever the tracking has problems. It also makes a loud digitized noise during the capture. I can recreate the sound by rewinding the 8mm tape while connected to my dv-cam. Is there anyway to fix this? I also tried rerecording onto VHS and capturing, but I got the same glitches in the same spots.

the tape appears to be dirty.
you might be SOL, cause 8mm tapes aren't easy to clean. -
I was editing the heck out of the tape, but at some points it was every 5 or ten seconds. Then I would get a good stretch. I am converting it for a friend, so I don't want to mess with cleaning his tape. I guess I will continue editing it.
Thanks
