I recently converted an .avi file to dvd using DVD2SVCD. After authoring the dvd and burning it to DVD+R, I popped it into my player and discovered that I have scrolling video. The picture just keeps scrolling through the screen. The dvd plays fine in my computer. The tv works fine both when watching cable or other dvds, as I tested that tonight right after. My only thought is that the original file was in PAL format, which might not be compatible with the player. I have played SVCDs in PAL format with no problem however. Does anyone have any ideas?

Well I used Virtual Dub on the original .avi file and that displayed that it was 25 fps. At that point, I went with the PAL format for encoding and authoring.

What is the source of the AVI? If it was DV, I remember reading forum postings about the setting for TFF. You may need to reverse that setting and then re-encode.
