  1. I have had no luck playing burned DVDs in my Pontiac Montana DVD player. The player usually can not recognize the DVD or it attempts to play, but it is extremely choppy.

Has anyone tried any blank DVDs which work in one of these DVD players??

I've tried Ritek DVD-R, Memorex DVD-RW & Memorex DVD+Rs. None seem to work.

    Which burner do you have?
See if it can do bitsetting and burn your + dvdr
to read as dvd-rom. That MAY work for you.

Most likely your in-car DVD video player does not recognize DVD-R and/or DVD-RW media and works only with industrial DVD and/or VCDs.
One friend of mine owns Chrysler Pacifica equipped with stock DVD video player and also has no luck to play self-burned DVDs. Only able to play industrial DVDs.
