  1. Does anybody knows if there is a web site with the movie chapters (what time, which frame, what chapter)?

I encoded a movie to a dvd file from divx and now i'd like to author it according to the original DVD, witch I dont have...

So, if anybody has any idea, so please, post it...
    Thanks

  5. Why don't you just put chapter points wherever you want?

Because people won't buy it off him then.
    If in doubt, Google it.

If the DVD is free to the masses, then he has an original, yet he states he doesn't have the original ...
    If in doubt, Google it.

Smurf maybe right, but...... has anyone considered that he may have ripped it from his on video tape collection. Maybe that's why he wants to insert chapters at the appropriate points. We're to quick to judge. -garman

  13. Hmmm, compleate turn of charactor here??
Normally everyone else seems to be on the pirate, obey the rules or go away side, and I am on the defence about maybe it was PD stuff.

    How come we changed sides???

Ya, go buy the DVD and stop downloading stuff or at least contribute someting to the effort like setting all your own chapters!!! Sheeesh!

I encoded a movie to a dvd file from divx and now i'd like to author it according to the original DVD, witch I dont have...
Maybe just me, but that ones sound reall obvious even if no names are mentioned. From Divx to dvd? Ok where did the Divx come from? Don't answer that, I am sure it would break some type of rule!

And wanting a site that might have chapter times and points settings??
Sound like he expects that one to be fairly popular to be listed on a site.
Not the average bedroom cam of the nieghbours type Divx.

  14. I could be wrong, but a point I pick up on. It's a Divx, so I dought it's a capture from his VHS collection.

If the DVD is free to the masses, then he has an original, yet he states he doesn't have the original ...
Well, no that isn't quite right. Maybe the DVD and content COULD BE free to the masses, but he has a DIVX, not the DVD so he has a copy of the content, but not the disk.

I know of one work in progress where that could legally happen. They plan to give away as many free DVDs as they can, sort of like AOL Cd's and anyone can copy freely to give away, upload, download ect... legally, because they want it everywhere! In that particalar case it would/will be fine to rip the DVD, convert to some other NET friendly form and share it. People downloading it can then convert to what ever format, even back to DVD and burn copies for themselfs and thier friends.

Not that you can do that with AOL disks, I just use them as an example of the "Every coffee cup should have it's own disk" type marketing plan!

if it was from a video tape collection - chapters found on the web wouldnt match anyway as the time would be off ..
