Dear DV enthusiasts,
I am playing some Sky/UK Gold tv footage which I have on VHS tape from 1993 and want to put on DVD.
The quality is as good as it got back then.
I am capturing the footage out to my Sony DCR TRV 60 Digital camcorder and this plays back as good on the tv.
When I come to play it on the Dell Dimension 4300 computer via firewire there are some "fuzzy" lines down either side of the screen which are not on the original tape or on the DV tape.
Thw two programmes I tried it with are Pinnacle Studio V7 & Ulead videostudeo 7 SE DVD. Any clues.
I tried some more recent VHS footage & that is O.K.
Thank you for reading & any answers apprecaiated.
Ray.

They are there but not visible on a TV because it's off the screen. It's reffered to as overscan. You can either use a editor to frame it in blck or crop out that portion for viewing on a computer. If you are going to burning the video to DVD for viewing on a TV just leave them be.
