Price seems competitive and never heard anything bad... Are Bridgestones any good? Anyone have problems? (aka Firestone anamolies)

I had a set of Bridgestone Potenza tires on my Trans Am. It cornered like a go-kart. Excellent tire, and the wear wasn't too bad considering the "stickiness" of the tiresOriginally Posted by DVD_Ripper

However, I am now a Pirelli fan. More money, but oh, what a superb tire

Yea... I had two sets on an old 318i I owned a few years back... they are nice tiresOriginally Posted by Capmaster

***EDITED REMOVED ENDORSMENT***
Dunlops suck ass
Goodyear is decent if you dont get the cheap end tires"Terminated!" :firing: -
I've had good luck with Bridgestone and Michelin...

I personally have Michelin it sounds like you got what you are looking for ( as far as price ) but no matter what brand you go with, if you are not using a on-liner like tirerack. .use the companies to battle for your business. I always use America's tire and just tires and any other company to beat each other out ( I finally use a local tire shop give me the best price) ex. many moons ago ..I would buy yoko tires...they were advertised for about $ 135 each and I would get them down to about 75 out the door

Michelin are good tires, but I've been faithfully following my list of French companies, and I DO NOT BUY FRENCH ANYMORE. EVER!Originally Posted by CoasterCreator

No politics mentioned. Just my personal buying habitsOriginally Posted by yoda313

I can dislike the French for so many different reasons without having to drag politics into it.
How's this: They all talk like they have a mouthful of crap. No politics

did not know that ...well I guess I could always get some other brand as far as they as good if not better then the one I currently have ...thanks for the info
as far as my preference

I'm not trying to persuade anyone else to not buy French. At least not here.Originally Posted by CoasterCreator

Michelin. There are many, like Nissan or RCA. Companies you wouldn't suspect. But, I fear this is treading into politics now, so let's discuss it further by PMsOriginally Posted by thayne

I retract my previous endorsment of Michelin and BF Goodrich tires!
Get the Bridgestones!"Terminated!" :firing: -
check the reviews at tirerack.com is the best method ..

Potenzas generally have short lives, especially RE92s
I had a set of Yokohama all-seasons on my car when I bought it and got a good 40k miles from them. I upgraded to Yokohama AVS S2s now and they are superb on wet/dry pavement. Haven't had a chance for winter yet. Not as good as my last set on gravel though, but then I've got a set of Pirelli K4 gravel tires if I really want to spend a lot of time in the dirt
I also recommend getting a set of steelies and putting Hakkas on for winter tires. Between those and a good set of all-seasons for the summer (or summer tires depending on what your spring/fall are like) you'll have great traction year-round. -
Thanks for the feedback all.
I have Yoko's on my SUV now and am at 40k... good tires and I'd put them back on again but may sell car in 18-24 months. Plus the Yoko's are $30.00 more per tire....
Sounds like Bridgestones are a good choice.
RCA... "Radio something of America" .... a French company... tell me it isn't true

Go to http://www.tirerack.com and read all the reviews of the different tires.
I've had Michilen LTX tires on my truck twice. Both of them hit 100K for mileage. I didn't have the money to get another set of Michelins so I looked at the Khumo Venture AT tires. They are much narrower so I get a bigger size if you want looks.
They almost have the same rating as the LTX except these are AT and a little noisier. They 4 wheel much better (AT) and teh water handling is far better.
They were $52 each compared to $120 for the LTX.

I use any made in USA no name tires on my car and they do just fine.

I hate that, getting a new tire or getting a tire repaired.
A flat tire is worse and I can remember having to take a day off for urgent replacement at trusted tire Co.
I thought this I can remember as the best: Michelin...I am a computer and movie addict -
i need some tires for a ford focus svt - for winter .. bad winter ....

Hakka Qs are the best snow tires I've ever used. Get those if you need winters.
-
i was thinking about those or some WR's .. but they are squirrelly on dry pavement and i drive usually around 140km - 160km a hour , 250km a day ..Originally Posted by rallynavvie

i was thinking maybe a good allseason like a nero m+s or avs 100 ..
