Hi,
I bought this OEM unit last April and flashed it with the firmware that allows you to burn at 8X using 4x media. This worked like a charm without any problems until this weekend.
I was using Pinnacle Studio 9 to create a dvd disc and said it was the incorrect media. So I tried 10 Ritek's and prodisc DVD-R and also a DVD-RW but it could not read anything.
So I go to my computer, Windows XP professional sees the drive but when I click on it (after loading a DVD movie), it just brings up a white blank screen.
At this point, the drive does not see any media at all. Is this a goner and have to replace it?
Any advise is most welcome..

Sorry to mention this. Advice: Only use OEM firmware flashes
It's not worth the 7 minutes you save, is it? -
