firmware for pacific digital....

Howdy,

I bought this pacific digital 4x DVD+/-RW ... and according to the info given on the DVD writers, its supposed to be an Optorite...

(serial starts with an I and model # ends with RV1)

But I cannot confirm this from the device.. ie., no where is it written on the device that its an optorite.
The Nero software that came along with it shows me that its a "GENERIC DVD DUAL 4x MAX " ... but says max speed = 1000 kbps
and it writes only at 1x speed... each DVD takes one hour to write. I don't know the brand exactly..

i saw some messages to upgrade the firmware... but the firm ware on the optorite website says the s/w is not for this device.. when I tried to install it..

I tried DD0201 and DD0203..

please let me know if there is any solution to this problem... I wanna write with 4x speed... thanks a lot.. bye..

You should try the OEM "I" firmware version you'll find at Accesstek's website instead: http://www.accesstek.com.tw/_english/3_service/02_fw.php
