  1. Is there a guide/way to split DVD-9s into two DVDRs with the menu, extras, and working chapter selection on disc 2? In other words, I'd like to have disc 2 be the same as disc one with the second half the movie. I've tried using DVDX Copy which has a menu on disc two but doesn't have the extras nor a working chapter selection, while DVDFab won't even create a menu on disc 2. Any insights mates?

The only one I can see is this one https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=248&howtoselect=6;30#248
but I don't know if this preserves the menus.

It is easy to do in DVD Shrink if you put all of the movie on one disk, and all the extras on Disk 2.

The only other program I can suggest is DVD Remake, which would make light work of this, and allow you to kill the chapters selection not relevent to each disk - http://www.deano.dsl.pipex.com/dvdremake/guides/episodesplit.htm

Thanks mate! I used the guide by Derrow on Doom9 that you had suggested and I was able to have the menu and special features on disc 2 but the chapter selection doesn't work. Whichever chapter I selected it just starts the movie from the beginning of the disc. Did I do something wrong or is there a way to make the scene selection work on disc 2?

  4. IFOEdit still had bugs in it when Derrow started to work for the DVDXCopy people (since sued to oblivion).

    DVDRemake, OTOH, works for sure.

  5. Look around for the old freeware version of DVDFab, I believe the version number is 0.17. It splits a DVD into 2 disks with the menus and extras on disk 1. plus it has other useful feature. I remember a link being posted somewhere on this site, do a search. Nyah Levi

  6. Hello mates! Does DVDRemake preserve the menu with special features on disc 2 AND have a WORKING chapter selection?

Yes. Also, if you have a problems, the developers will get you a fix within days. Although in releasde 2.4.1 (current) there's not much going wrong. In fact, I've split maybe 40 disks with the thing, no coasters.
