Do you have Norton's installed on the PC ? Some versions include a protected recycle bin that keeps files even after the recycle bin has been emptied.

If you can't post something constructive, how about not posting anything. Your comments do not help anyone.

  6. May not help but you could try these steps...

As always do at your own risk....

    1) Run scan disk. Yea I know it junk but could find the missing parts.

    2) If its just a partition or another hard drive that can be formated then do a format on only that partition or only that hard drive. This will put things back in place so to speak. I know you did this but some times software does not clean up after it self.

    3) Are you running the latest version or have you tried a previous version?

    Good luck!

  7. Definately run scan disk, especially if you're running an older OS (Win95/98) or FAT32. I used to have this happen regularly on my older machine - I had to run scan disk after every 3 or 4 rips to recover the gigabytes of lost clusters.

I'd also recommend doing the following to get diagnostic information:
    - right click your drive and select properties; make note of used space.
    - open the root of the same drive, select all files and folders, right click and choose properties. It will take a while but eventually it will tell you the total space used by all files on the drive.
The two numbers should be close if not identical. If they are, there are files hiding on your drive. If not, something is amiss with your file system (and scan disk should catch it).

Note: there are a number of tools out on the web that can display the size of a directory (the total size, including files in all subdirectories). If there are files hiding on your system, this might help you track them down.

I do think it's odd that it only happens when you use DVDDecrypter.

IF you are running winxp with a second hdd then there could be files stuck in the recycler that are hidden, what i did to fix that was goto tools/folder options/view and check show hidden files and folders and uncheck hide protected operating system files, you should see a recycler folder on the main and second hdd, look in there and delete.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.
