I am looking for a program that I can cut certain chapters/features out of the dvd's I have. I am making backups and some larger DVDs copy at a way lesser quality because of the file sizes. So what I did when I had the trial version of CloneDVD was just cut either special features or audio sets.
I have DVDShrink which only allows me to cut out the audio selections(as far as I know?)...
I have DVD Decrypter which doesn't allow me to cut out anything.
I heard you can do it in VS8 but it's also only a trial and is a 130MB download(which sucks on dialup).
Are there any programs that I can cut out certain chapters, special features, and audio out there? I know I can just re-author in DVDShrink but then I lose the menus(which I want).
Any help really would be appreciated.
Thanks!

You can set the special features in DVD Shrink to still images. That may reduce the size quite a bit depending on the DVD.
This plan is so bad, it must be one of ours. -
VOBBlanker can remove individual titles while retaining everything else.
If in doubt, Google it. -
You really need to go to the GUIDES section or to www.dvdshrink.info and look at the tools you have. They will do exactly what you are looking for.

I was talking about VOBBlanker's GUI. But I figured out what to do.

Is there not a faster way to do this?
I have to Decrypt in DVD Decrypter(20-25mins) then blank the sections with VOBBlanker(30 mins I think) then use DVDShrink to remove certain audio and compress to fit on the DVDR(20 mins or so), then burn w/ Nero(15-20mins).
If I use DVDShrink first to decrypt and take out audio it compresses all files to fit to 4gb or whatever including the things i'm going to cut out with VOBBlanker. But I can't use VOBBlanker first until it's unencrypted. Which is why I use DVD Decrypter first...
This is why I liked DVDClone. I could just Decrypt via DVD Decrypter, take out chapters/features on DVDClone and burn in the same process, while still retaining all menus.
The way i'm doing it works, just a slower process. -
chewie8008,
You could also try TitleSetBlanker. It's not as precise as VOBBlanker in pinpointing what you want to blankout, but it works great on a lot of discs, and it works immediately (no processing time).
1. Decrypt
2. Check your titlesets in your software player to see what they contain.
ie. VTS_02 Whatever is contained within this titleset will be blanked
using TitleSetBlanker.
3. With TitleSetBlanker, open up your movie and select the titlesets you
don't want. If titlesets have a matching menu item, it'll be listed on the
right window pane. Select that one also.
4. Hit the Blank button. This will be done instantly. Close TitleSetBlanker.
5. Open up the movie in DVDShrink. Shrink a bit if needed. Backup. Good to go. -
Then why don't you just mail me a $50 money order then.
You must not see what i'm trying to do here. I can make the copies. It's working fine. I just wanted to simplify the process. If it's for free, cool. But if it's $50 and I don't have $50, then why would I do that?
I'm not really trying to be a smart ass here, but it just seems like you're getting pissed(or frustrated, whatever) because I am looking for something a little different than what you have suggested. I do appreciate your information, as well as the info provided by others. I have taken the above information into consideration and DL'd TitleSetblanker and VOBblanker. Both work, to certain degrees. I was just curious if there was something that had more similar features as CloneDVD for free. As I see, there is not, and that's fine. But I had to ask.
Thanks.
