I'm new to exporting to dvd so tried to do so and :THis is what I don't understand:
From timeline-export to dvd with standart setting (default) I'm able to burn a dvd but later on my dvd player the first , say ,10 minutes is perfect then video freezes, distorts, meaning something is wrong in preset settings. Tried -R, +R discs, same problem. What do I do wrong? What encoding settings should I use? Can anybody tell me step-by-step how to do this?

Another question: the best video editting program I have used was EditDV 2.0 but it has no export to dvd option and - I think - was not for winXP - not for bigger then 2G file. Can I zoom and pane in Pro v.7?? TitleDeco from Premiere v.6 doesn't work with v.7 - do you know better titling program for v.7?
    thanks for any input

Premiere Pro 1.0 aka v7 outputs to DVD in a limited (non authored) way for preview of the timeline. Encore is used for authoring a full DVD.

Premiere works. There must be a problem with your system configuration.

it looks I'm talking to myself....
another question for those who know and want to answer:
Just burned a dvd disc (+R)., that plays perfectly on one dvd player but not on mine!(Shinsonic 100A) (says "no disc") so I copied it on -R disc , the same message on my dvdplayer :"no disc)
Is my dvd writer, my Encore not good enough to write discs acceptable for ALL dvd players?? Or should I buy another player? Which one is good?
    thanks
    Gregory

  6. he sure got Adobe Encore pretty fast...I wish i had resources like that...shouldn't real software you buy from Adobe give you a manual, and if I'm not mistaken, Adobe has some really good online tutorials and forums for registered users (I own Photoshop CS from work)
