I've installed an NEC ND-2510A DVD drive into an external enclosure with a Prolific PL-3507 chipset. The drive is recognized and reads fine on my Toshiba laptop. However, playing a DVD I get a jumpy video playback. I understand that this is usually either a video card issue or a driver issue. My card is an Nvidia GeForce with latest good drivers and the internal DVD plays DVDs fine. The only driver I find available for this chipset is the standard Win XP one, which as I said works fine for CD read and write, prolific website doesn't mention anything other than the XP driver.
Any suggestions on what to try next?
