  1. I want to extract the audio from an MPG file and then edit it. I have de-mux'd it using TMPGenc and the resulting MP3 file plays fine in any app. When I try to open it in Nero Wave editor, I get a message saying 'problem in opening file'.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

It should be an mp2 file, not mp3. Anyway, try Goldwave.

  3. OK, have downloaded Goldwave trial and have more info.
The file I am using is extracted from an MPG recorded using my TV card from digital radio. When I try to edit the MP2 file de-mux'd in TMPGenc now I get a 'floating point division by zero message. If I use a file demux'd from another MPG file, all seems OK.
TV card is an AVerMedia DVB-T 771 which records radio as an MPG without video stream.
Any further help would be gratefully received....

  4. It looks as if the file is corrupt in some way. Have you tried opening the mpeg (before demuxing) in virtualdub mod, then saving the audio stream as a wav file?

  5. Have solved problem. If I extract the file to a .WAV first using basic TMPGenc function, I can edit this with Nero as I wanted.
    Thanks for the suggestions.
