avi to mpeg

hi,

I have a avi file and I am wanting to convert it to a mpeg file so I can burn it on a cd and watch it on my dvd player.

I have had a look at the guides on the site but there is alot of them and i'm not sure which is right for me. Please can someone tell me which guide is the best for me and is easy to follow.

first of all, do you want to make a vcd or an svcd?
