  1. i am sorry but i have to rant about this with the stupidity of some ebay buyers who are into buying S-vhs units and tapes..

as of lately i have seen the following units with these buy-it-now prices..

jvc-hr5912u....buy it now $40.00...the bid got around $87.00!!!
    jvc-3800u....buy it now $35.00 with a $10 shipping.the bid got over $60!!
jvc-2902u...buy it now $35.00 brand new in the box!!..bid went over $75!!

those are just the ones off the top of my head i really had my eye set on the first two i begged my brother to use his CC but 30mins after i got the chance to buy it..some retard placed a bid and ruined it for anyone hoping to get a greatdeal on a ok svhs vcr..

what makes me even madder is that the butt-hole who placed the bid not even bother to place anotherone...

i come to 2 conclusions either the bidders are stupid or their is a select few who are ruining it for everyone..

anyone care to share their thoughts on deranged ebayers..

This happens with a bunch of different items on Ebay. Last Christmas, game systems were the same way. I don't particularly agree with Ebay's thing of removing the "Buy It Now" option as soon as there is one bid. Especially if that bid is under the "buy it now" price. What the hell?

And then there is the other side of the coin where someone puts a ridiculous reserve price on an item and wonders why it won't sell.

Or puts a ridiculous shipping cost which is ten times the cost of the actual shipping.

Ive seen some bluetooth dongles at 1 Pence bid with nobody bidding as the postage is like £8.99, when in reality, it would only cost about £1 to send (£2 at most if you really stretch it)

I usually email those people and bitch at them for trying to profit on shipping fees. That practice is actually against the rules on Ebay. Of course, so is charging an ridiculous amount over the face value of concert tickets, but Ebay can't be bothered by such things. They are too busy taking down "questionable items" on their auction site.

  7. Who cares what the shipping is? When I bid I take all things into account. the Final Bid Price Plus Shipping thats what I'm Paying for the (Item).

    example

50 Plasma TV. Bid Price 1000$, shipping 500$. Total 1500$

    "actual" Shipping cost 100$

    Retail Price for TV 2500$.

    Saving 1000$.

Ebay fee avoidance is another thing. also the fee's they Now charge. You also Pay/lose for the shipping if Paid with PayPal. Have to beat them at there own game.

If I were to spend over $1000 on ebay, i wouldn't even consider shipping. i wouldn't personally collect the item. This way, I save on shipping and not risk losing $$$ on some scams that appear on ebay. Imagine purchasing an item for $1500 and not receiving it. It would be a hassle to recover the money back.

Besides, there are loads of items with ridiculous shipping that is even more than the what the item is worth.

Yeah........ we've all seen the DVD piracy that goes on there under e-Bay's noses and jack shit gets done. I got stung over a year or so by some guy who had a track record of buying originals then his next 10-20 sales would be copies of that film for about £10 a go. I'd worked out he'd made about £2k in six months - hardly big stuff but I'd bet he was a teenager for whom £2k was a lot.

I'm not a Ebay user, how do they compare to this.

Check out the U2 tickets for Madison Square Garden. AFAIK it's completely legitimate too, this company frequently advertises in the newspaper.
