  1. I have a dvd which I would like to backup, however I need to shrink it down but I would like to leave the video untouched. What programs would be best to remove extras and also retain the menus (the menu links to the removed extras should be disabled)?
Also, I might want to transcode some extras instead of totally removing

    any suggestions?

I was reading a tutorial which involved both dvdshrink and dvdremake, however dvdremake is a difficult program to find.

  2. 1. DVDShrink will allow you to set the compression rate for the main title and extras.
    2. Some movies are so long that you cannot backup the DVDs without compression.

You may want to try Titlesetblanker or VOBblanker to remove unwanted extras before using DVDShrink.

  4. My self I use clonedvd2 to remove extras, but keep menus. And then I re-encode using dvd rebuilder, using CCE SP.

I was thinking the exact same thing myself ...
    If in doubt, Google it.
