Ok... I have a Koss KD305a (progressive scan) dvd player... I tried backing up my GoodFellas DVD using divx to back it up, and encoded the audio as mp3 (mp layer III...), and the rip came out fine... I can watch it in Windows Media Player, and everything else... I then, used TMPGEnc 3.0 Express to encode the movie, and everything came out fine, and I encoded the file with a constant bitrate of about 3550 kbits/s, and the output file was 4199mb... I then, loaded this file into TMPGEnc DVD Author, and output a backup dvd of this... I then, burned the dvd onto a dvd-r using Nero 6 at 4x, then tried to play the dvd in my Koss KD305a, and it spins for a couple seconds, then displayed 18:59 and sayed "Incompatible Disc". I tried it a couple more times, repeatedly receiving the same error, then I stopped... I then inserted a dvd-r backup of some of the simpsons season 4 episodes, which I encode at a constant bitrate of about 2450, and the dvd-r played fine, as it always does... I then tried another back up of futurama episodes, which are encoded at around the same bitrate of the simpsons, and they played fine. I then inserted a back-up of "Paid In Full" which was encoded at about 4100 kbits/s with an output file of 4199mb that was authored and burned the same way as GoodFellas, into the Koss DVD player, and the screen displayed 00:29 and then displayed "Incompatible Disc"... I tried this disc a few times and it kept displaying the same error message... Keep in mind that the Simpsons, Futurama, GoodFellas, and Paid In Full rips are all on the same type of DVD-r media... After I was finished testing the Paid In Full DVD, I re-inserted the GoodFellas DVD to try 1 last time, and the the DVD played! The only problem was that whenever someone in the movie nodded their head quickly, or moved very quickly, there would be lines in the video??? Please help me figure out if I'm doing something wrong or....

Also, how do I find out what my player accepts??? ie: DiVx, Xvid, etc...
