  1. Copying DVDs, using DVd decryptor, DVD shrink then Nero. Ritek G04 Dye/Datawrite G04 Dye. At the moment 1 in 2 discs have the following issue...

On playback the pixels of the picture goes, they go square and the colours merge together, and it jumps.

No fingerprints on the DVD, or scratches, dust. However, when I play it in the DVD that I wrote it on its fine, absolutely perfect.

So, is it the DVD? the DVD player (very old Proline machine). It's happening with 1 in 2 of the Ritek DVDs, haven't any problmes with Maxell media.

    thoughts?

    many thanks

Burn multiple versions of the same DVD Image. If two copies of the same image differ in playback (for instance only one encounters the issue) then the inconsistancy is most likely the fault of the media. If all burnt versions of the same image have the error then it is a problem with the transcode (unlikely if it plays fine on the PC), or a decoder/readibility compatibility problem with your aging DVD player.
