I have an Mpeg file that plays in Windows media but when I try to import it into Premiere 6.5 it says it was recorded at an unsupported rate. Is trhere something I can do to make it readable? I have Main Concept MPEG Encoder but when I try to import the file into it it says no video data can be found. Any ideas?

    Thanx!

  2. Hi,

AP 6.5 doesn't read mpegs, the Mpeg encoder writes them. So you can create mpegs but not edit them. I believe that Premiere Pro can read a mpeg with the correct plugin.

No it reads them... I have used some before. It just has to first render them though when you put it in the timeline unlike .avi. So it reads .mpg files but for some reason not this one. ANyone else got any ideas?

    bump....

a last check for help. Also wanted to mention that Main Concept can convert files into Mpegs. I tried to import it in as an .mpg file and just convert it hoping it would then be in a form that Premiere could edit but as I said Main Concept said, "no video data could be found". Any ideas?
