In version 1.51.2 I have 21 backgrounds to choose from. I think the website says there are 80 backgrounds.... I have been wanting to ask anybody else if they only have 21 selections. Apparently you can use your own picture as well. They are jpg format. If you go to the install folder and look in the background folder you will see the jpgs. They are all 720 x 576 size so I am thinking if you make your own you will need to resize them to that resolution for compatiblility but I am not 100% on that since I have not tried it yet. You need a photo editor like photoshop to do the job. There is also a font button to change the font type in the text.
Hope this helps. Pretty new to this app myself. The only complaint I have to this app is that this forum is not as active as I would hope. I guess it is pretty specialized and not too many use it? I know the developer does this as a hobby and appears to work on show stopper issues mostly. But I would still like to hear from Chrissy about the freezing issue that some have on the biginning of the movie where one can kick start it buy hitting the forward key. Even if Chrissy has no workaround I would like to know if development is aware of it and what theories they may have on the source of troubles. -
Missing backgrouds... Have a look at:

To get the picture menu you describe (i think i understand) you would customise the menu like HighDesert suggests in a image editor but you would still need a text "DVD button". I do this and have "play" as my text....

I have not seen this. I may meed you to upload some samples for me to take a look at. Can you email me about this.
Next time I see this I will email the log. I don't have the older logs anymore. I am still leaning on win 98se having a part in this.
As for making backgrounds, one can also use powerdvd or windvd to play back the mpeg and just hit the capture button to take a snapshot. After that, I use ACDsee to convert the bitmap to jpeg. I use paperport to resize and make sure the dpi is 72. This works good and most people have powerdvd and ACDsee so this is another way to do it. I use the older ACDsee but the newer version will probably be able to resize it as well. -
Sounds good.
