I will get my DVD burner next month and am thinking of making all my fansubbed anime into DVD's. If I do this will I have to take overscan into account like when making SVCD's? Also, bout how many 25 min episodes will fit in a DVD? I was just gonna buy the bootlegs but I dont trust their subtitles.
Is it hard to make dual audio OGM's into DVD's with selectable subbs or is it just more trouble than its worth?

Depends. You'll have to determine what an acceptable bitrate is for the quality of source you have. I've found that around 6 - 25min episodes is acceptable to me. YMMV. You'll have to experiment and pick what you like.bout how many 25 min episodes will fit in a DVD?
Again, depends. This time it depends on your level of familiarity with the DVD creation process and the quality of tools you are using. My sugestion on tools for this would be DVD-Lab Pro 1.4 beta 10. 30 day free trial, fully functional. It will allow for multiple audio files and multiple subtitle streams. There are a lot of people here who use it, so if you need any help, you can just ask.Is it hard to make dual audio OGM's into DVD's with selectable subbs or is it just more trouble than its worth?
Hope I helped. -
I make dvd's of fansubs as well, I have fit 25 episodes of a series on one dvd, that was encoded into svcd format, japanese audio, hardsubs, and the video bitrate was around 1700+.
I am currently working on a backup of love hina, so far I probably end up with 12 or 13 episodes on a dvd, japanese, and english audio, both audio tracks encoded into 2 channel ac3(dolby digital), and english subtitles. the video was encoded in half d1 kdvd that I bumped up to 720x480, the average bitrate is around 2300 kbps(including both 192 kps audio tracks) Each video file is around 360-380mb each. and the quality is awesome. So I say go for it, I am use the dvd lab pro beta 10, and it works very well,
if you need an authoring help with the ogm files after you make them, or a list what programs I use, please feel free to e-mail me at Schunn99@bellsouth.net
