Soory if someone has to move this, but I like to get this kinda question answered here first. My tivo has rca outputs. If I recorded to my cam and then transfered to my pc from my cam, there would be no loss difference than if I hooked the tivo directly to a capture card/Pc,correct?

You are in breach of the forum rules and are being issued with a formal warning. WRONG FORUM.

Correct. But you should have RCA jacks and S-video jacks in the back of your TiVo (or at least I do in my DVR)...and you should be able to skip the camera step. I even have a DV output jack

Plus, I'm not 100% sure that you can record on your camera through the RCA jacks...but you know your camera better than I do.

Right, but my tivo is downstairs and the pc up. Thinking about an easy transfer.

Ummm.......well....then I guess you don't have much choice

I think....and I could be wrong, but why don't you just take your TiVo upstairs and hook it up direct? You don't need a TV but would make navigation of the menu's easier.

To answer your question....if you have a good camera, you should lose very much quality, if any at all, especially if you have DV camera.

Is the "DV out" a Firewire port .... so you can go DV out to firewire on your PC?
