Has anyone tried to use the Ritek 8X on the Sony DRU500A?
I came across a good deal on these discs and assumed because the Ritek 4X worked that the 8x would work, or at least default to 4x. No such luck, I ended up with two coasters on the first two tries.
Will these same discs work on the DRU700A? I noticed a few posts on this forum regarding these discs at times will record at 6x with this burner.
Any comments?
Thanks

Well, I bought 25 Ritek x4 G05 discs (in the belief they were G04) and my Sony DRU-500a would not even entertain the idea of burning to them. I tried 2 different types of GO5 discs, the RiDisc and the Datawrite yellow G05 discs. No luck with either, and that was with the latest 2.1a firmware. So I bought a load of datasafe G04 discs from svp.co.uk and bingo bango they work like a charm.
I take it this G05 dye from ritek is going to be more prominent from now on, so I am seriously considering buying the pioneer from svp for £60.
What say u?
