  1. ok I'm trying to convert this MPEG I have of an Anime Music Video to VCD/DVD compatable format with TMPGe.

But TMPGe comes up saying it's corrupted and/or unsupported.

I've run it though MovieID and here's all it says:

    File Name: rogueintellectproductions-naotas lament 480x320.mpg

    File Format: MPEG-2 Program Stream
    Author: Moving Picture Experts Group
    Web Site: mpeg.telecomitalialab.com

    Content: Video and Audio
    Duration: 4 min 24 sec
    Video Info: 480 x 320, 29.970 fps
Audio Info: 48000 Hz, 131.1 kbps, stereo

    Audio Format: MPEG-1 Layer 2

I really can't figure out what the problem is.

I want to run this as either a VCD or when I get one set up, a DVD.

    Unsupported resolution?

  3. I don't know if it's the resolution or not.

When I check it's properties though windows media player, it says teh video codec is "Ligos MPEG Decoder" I dont' know what that is or if TMPGe supports it.

  4. Try loading you video with avisynth.

    Code:
    loadplugin("<path>\mpeg2dec3.dll")
    mpeg2source("<path>\file.mpg")
This script will normally work but it only converts the video.

For the audio, you need to demultiplex it from the original file and remultiplex it with the freshly encoded file.

  5. Umm is there anyways to do this without using a program there is no documentation on or having to install stuff I really don't need??

Not that I don't appreciate teh help, I just really don't like having to learn new software and waste disc space for one file and never use it again.

I really hate having to go though pages upon page of learning how to use a program as complicated as AVISynth (there's no front end and requires multiple add-on files to work properly) just do one thing that isn't covered all that in detail.

If anyone here would be willing to write up a small "Idiot's guide" on how to re-do this stupid file. (Yes I know this is the advanced forum but given the nature of the problem it had to be posted here)

well I've attempted the script, and it doesn't work. I can't find the .dll file that you listed.
