omg, dvd drive not working!!

ok um i tried to update my dvd burner drive using the live update at drvupdate.com and about 1/4 way through updating my drive it failed and told me to restart. so i restarted and now my drive doesnt show up in my computer. can someone please help me??? my dvd drive is DRW 1108IM – DVD+/-RW Drive and can be shown here: http://www.btc.com.tw/english/2-2-dvd_rw.htm#drw1108im

Not good.

Try the following:

1) Uninstall the IDE cable and power connector from the drive and power up.
2)Power down
3) Reattach cables and power up again. Check Device Manager and see if it shows up.
4) If it doesn't, put your boot-up messages in verbose mode and look for the drive to be recognized when you restart again. If it doesn't report it there, and your BIOS settings are all correct (auto-sense IDE and both channels still enabled), check again in Windows.
5) If it still doesn't show up, the drive is hosed. You'll have to return it for a replacement.
