  1. I've notied that the Philips DVP642 does not remember where it was when the unit was turned off. Anyone else have this problem, its really bugs me since its such a basic feature.

Now on the note of basic features, I can not find random/suffle play for the MP3s. Anyone know a fix.

Also how do you get the unit to dispay time remaining in a movie or the total length of a movie.

Unit works great but lacks very basic features.

    * You forgot where you left off? Use your chapter index on the dvd or fast foward your divx/xvid stuff.

    * As far as I know it doesn't have one, but I also don't use this option or care. I'm more worried about the quality and format of the video output since it is a dvd player.

    * Again, this is something I'd also like to see implemented in the future. Have you tried the firmware upgrade? There are some new features added but I'm not sure which since I don't have the balls to try it and fry my unit

    * I can't complain. It plays everything I have without problem. I still can't find a format of video it won't play. Great unit. I'd rather have a solid unit like this with great playback of various formats than a unit that is bloated with features and buggy. For $70, it does more than any other unit. There are $500 units on the market which do much less. BE HAPPY
