  1. I have had this problem from day one. The video and audio are out of sync with every DVD I burn using Pinnacle Studio 9. I have tried everything that the company's tech support told me to do, and it has not gotten any better. If anyone has a fix for this, please help.

    Thank you

The quickest fix is to get a hammer, get the Pinnacle installation disk, apply the hammer with suffcient force to smash the disk into small pieces.

Then remove all Pinnacle software from your computer and get a different (almost any other) authoring program. TMPGEnc DVD Author, Power Producer 3 Gold, DVD Lab, etc etc. Any of them will give you fewer problems than Pinnacle.

Of course you will probably hear from people who use Pinnacle without any problems telling you how great it is. But if it was really that great you wouldn't be having problems either.

  3. The real question is what is your SOURCE material?

If it is MPEG or AVI (not DV-AVI) files or anything other than DV-AVI (i.e. what comes out of a miniDV camcorder) that requires reprocessing into the MPEG2 format of DVDs, then it is quite possible that Pinnacle failed to convert it and maintain sync. I've seen this happen a lot.

Instead of trying to create a DVD, try to have it output an MPEG2 file that is DVD compliant. Then try playing that file and check the a/v sync.

The only files I'll feed into Pinnacle are those from my miniDV camera; I then burn the DVD to FILES not to DVD. Other than that, I use TMP DVD Author to create the menus and create the DVD structure once more. I then take this into NERO and burn the disc.
