Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.01 was realesed a short while ago, you can get it at download.com. If their links are being stupid still majorgeeks.com has it also.

is 1.03 SE better than their v6.0 pro? why the change from v6.0 pro to v1.03 SE Pro? SE usually means a subset ( ie Special Edition) of the "big" one.

replacing AdAware6 with this new AAW1.3 - do I need to uninstall my current AAW6 first?

I just uninstalled the aw6 first but as far as i have been told it detects it anyway and tells you that it must remove it first and does it for you.However im only hearing it from someone else so its up to you,personally i would just uninstall it first and then install it to be sure.

It does detect Adware6 and will uninstall.

Yes.

1.03 SE Pro detects entries not detected by 6.0 Pro.

Yeah, got 1.02, then 1.03 a few days later. I run that then Spybot S&D right after. But then I'm using Firefox, so stuff found is rather limited or nill.

True Adaware SE will find stuff that Adaware 6 can't but it'll also snap important registery files too. So if you're not careful and just delete all the findings, you may end up with a browser that no long can log onto the internet.

I think its great. Its scanning speed has dramatically increased. It used to take 5-8 minutes to scan everything not it takes under 4. Impressive. And its interface is even better as well.
