  1. I just installed a brand new 160 gb hdd, i already have a 60 gb installed.

    my problem is..if i burn a dvd movie from the 60gb hdd which is c: i can burn downloaded movies ok wheather they are in cue/bue or avi etc.

    but since installing this new 160 gb drive..i have been downloading the movies to there (H but i cannot seem to burn any movie whatsoever from h: (160 gb) to dvd disc

    i am using win xp pro.

    Any idea's please?

    What error messages are you getting if any and exactly why cant you access the files from the new hdd,more details would help,this isnt a authoring problem,more of a windows user problem.

    invalid unit number

    Can you access the drive and see all the files normally and is nero giving you this error?Can you install programs on the drive and run them from there?

  5. yes i can access the drive ok...yes i have installed and ran programs fine..
    and nero gets to about 50% and tells me the burn process had failed.
    the error message "invalid unit number" appears when i use dvd decrypter.

    Open nero and goto file/preferences/cache and test the drive speeds to make sure they are up to snuff,also check to see if the new hdd is set to udma5 or 6.

    current transfer mode PIO

    transfer mode DMA if avalable
    current transfer mode
    Ultra DMA mode 2

    If that's your hdd on ide 2 as master then its in pio mode and needs to set to udma.
