film stopping

joined two halfs together with avi mpeg joiner.then authorised it in tmpg
and burned it. when playing the film it stops at the join, when putting a menu in when authorising this is where it comes up and not at the begining. when re authorised and burned with no menu it stops in the same place where it's joined.
any thoughts on this,

Dont join the files,add them to the same track in tmpgenc dvd author.

Encode the files separately and when you open tmpgenc dvd author choose create new project and click on add file and browse to where the video files are and add all the ones you want to that same track,easy as that,remember to add them in the right order,also look to the left where you can check the auhoring guides for more help.
