  1. I want to rip a dvd with menu, ac3 and all subs, but if I encode with cce it encode the movie to 4.37gb, if I add menu, ac3 and subs to that it is to big to burn.

So what programs should I use to add menu, ac3 and subs to the encoded video so it fits on a regular dvd5 disc?

  2. you'll need to lower the bitrate when encoding with CCE, that will make the movie slightly smaller so you can squeeze in your audio, subs, and menu. Try this bitrate calc

  4. I tried dvd rebuilder but after everything was done the output file was 5.98gb, I have followed both doom9 and afterdawns dvd rebuilder guide and I have done everything by the guides so why is output the file not 4.37gb as it should be?

It seems there are a few dvds that can confuse dvd copying software. I had the same problem backing up 'Finding Nemo' using Dvd2One - ended up about 5.5gb. Tried it again in the latest Dvdshrink and it handled it perfectly.

  6. I now have tried 4 different movies and all ending up with oversized results. So what should I do? Is there a setting somewhere I can change to fix this or what?

What CCE version are you using?

Are you using One Pass OPV? It usually results in Oversized output. Try using 3-pass at the least.

Have you tinkered with the Rebuilder.ini file?

Just to be clear: Using Rebuilder with CCE 2.5 in VBR 5 passes you are getting an output of around 5.98 Gigs? Never occurred to me

What version of rebuilder and avisynth are you using?

Have you edited in any way the Rebuilder.ini file?

I would suggest start with a new installation of Rebuilder. Delete the rebuilder.exe and rebuilder.ini files, extract a fresh rebuilder.exe from the zip you downloaded and proceed to so the setup (basically enter the path to the different programs (avisynth, cce, ececl, etc). And run it again

If after it you still get that oversized output I would suggest you to post your problem in the Rebuilder forum at www.doom.org, where the developer of the program (JDOBBS) and other experts can assist you.

Please provide them as much info as possible: DVD you are backing up, how you ripped it, original size, rebuilder settings, etc.

    Good luck

  11. I am using dvd RB v 0.56, avisynth 2.54, and cce with EclCCE.
The encoding time only takes about 3 hours on a p4 1.8, the movie lenght is 2h, isn´t that to fast for 5 passes?
The doom9 forum is down so I can´t post there.

Why dont you use dvd shrink in reauthor mode at 100% to just copy the main title. Then use dvd rebuilder on the folder that dvdshrink creates. If you still have something wrong with your output size then you do have some program issues. Did you previously install dvd2dvdr or some other one click programs. This program screws up your registry settings so dvdrebuilder doesnt work right.
