  1. I saw this over at bensbargains and couldn't believe it. A 100 pack of Riteks going for less then $40 with free shipping. The price was something like $44.10 last week was gonna get themt hen, but definitely will get 200 or so now. Figured i'd mention it as it's the cheapest price i've seen Riteks for to date. There is some coupon code you have to use it is "weekly10" and apparently it's only good until Aug. 12th, which is Tomorrow, Friday.

Shop4tech has a terrible reputation. Check the thread about them. That price is cheap but not something you should go crazy over and buy 200. DVDRs will only be getting cheaper! And Riteks are not that great according to some people. Prodiscs are even cheaper and have had good reviews. I say don't be fooled by a few dollars savings. Wait until they are just as cheap at a better store.

  3. thx for the info, but I have read many good things about Riteks so figured to get 200 for less then $80 and free shipping too, lol wow! I've been using shop4tech for DVD Media for several months and haven't encountered any issues personally. But thank you for the information.

No problem. Pretty much my advice is not to go overboard and buy A LOT of media until you go through at least a 50 pack. I say this because I did that with Optodisc DVD-R media, I bought a whole bunch and ended up returning it with shipping being paid by me!

  6. someone told me there is a difference between Ritek and Ridata. Ridata silver matte is better than the Ritek Silver Matte. I don't know if that is true. I noticed that newegg, amazon, meritline and rima all sell Ridata branded Ritek disc, the ones have red wrapping. only shop4tech sell Ritek. is there a difference really? should we go for the lower price? or the better quality?

You should have no problems with the RiData - the branded spindle pack with the big arrow. I've burned these on 2 different burners and they've turned out excellent. There may have been a problem with the Riteks earlier in the year - I don't know - they seem to be OK now, although some people will forever claim they stink - (I guess they really love those Prodiscs!).

Anyway, as for Shop4Tech, I can say I've never had a problem with them. They sell the RiData branded 100 pack for $49 incl shipping (I guess with the coupon it'll come down to $44) - make sure you get these:
