Im trying to convert an mov to dvd but its got a video resolution of 865x368, 16:9.
Im trying to find out what would be a good video resolution conversion from those numbers.

720x272 would be the nearest conversion.

Shouldn't the final res be 368 vertical encoded at 16:9 for NTSC or 432 vertical (from 435) for PAL?
272 is for a 4:3 encoding for NTSC.
As for the guides they are there <<<<<< you aint looking hard enough. -
What are you going to use to encode it to mpg? I use TMPGEnc and when I go to encode a 2.35:1 movie, which is what you have - I set the flag to 16:9 and custom clip the resolution to 720x360....turns out fine
