My Region or Region Free in DVDShrink

I'm curious as to which would be more compatible when backing up my dvds. I've been using region free, but wondering if I'll run into compatibility problems down the road with dvd players that may only play one region. Do these players exist? I'm assuming that they currently play one region or all regions.

Everytime i tried making it only region 1 in dvd shrink it always ended up making it all region anyways........
So i would like to know if it would only be region 1 after checking only that and burning it ........

And most players from the store will only play region 1 disc's, assuming you are in north america, unless there is a hack or a loophole somewhere to get into it and change the region settings through the menu.
when making a dvd region free in dvd shrink (or other programs) if you check with dvd info pro, or even look at the settings in dvd shrink, it is actually making it ALL REGION, 1-8, so it's really not region free, just capable of playing on any machine no matter what region the machine is set to play.

I would actually like to know how to make a dvdr just region 1 ??

i think the provider i.d. provides some watermark in the ifo file? I think i remembered reading it somewhere. correct me if i'm wrong

you will NOT run into compatibility problems DUE to region free discs. the compatibility problems that you may run into will be based on the type of media used, some medias play well in some dvd players and some do not. BUT NEVER due to region selection.

There are NO DVD PLAYERS that cannot play region free discs (not that i've ever heard of)

By making the disc Region 1, you are only resctricting it to be played in Region 1 players and multi region players, but thats your choice.

i'd recommend you leave it region free.
