    What happened?

Did Lord Baldrick ban the post whores for a day?

Or did President Capmaster just give everyone the day off, and no one told me?

    Are you lonely?
Have you wasted half of your life pursuing sins of the flesh?
Are sitting in a bean bag chair naked eating cheetos?

Our home LAN server/router PC bit the big one yesterday evening. This morning I had to go out and buy the second replacement PC in two weeks

Ended up getting an eMachines 2.53 GHz Celeron, since it's used only for word processing and as a LAN manager. It has XP Home installed. 40GB, 256MB DDR, DVD/CD-RW combo. Not a bad machine for its purpose. Very easy to set up. $399 after $50 rebate.

Surprisingly it came with an 8-in-one media reader (CF, MMC, SD, etc.).

Until it worked, I was offline. It's a horrible feeling

    This is awful:

i told ya, i was at a LAN party all day. plenty of killing and maiming to be done

afterward though, the other guys found out their cars had been locked in the car park!
Mine was safely out front, but they had to sit around for aaaaages waiting for keys (i'd already called the head of my household to bring bolt cutters/cutting torch - he arrived same time as the keys )

I was working. Not too many people here today either. I sure hope Monday has more going on here. Otherwise, I might actually have to work again!

Now for Lan Server purposes will you reformat with Win 2000 or XP Server or Win 2003 Server....

No, I don't need IIS or any of the other fancy network features XP Pro has. The machine just acts as the firewall, and the router for the cable modem. The house wired/wireless LAN ties into it and uses it as the gateway to the internet. All those things are built into XP Home and it works quite nicely

Go into your profile and see if you have "stealth mode" turned on:
