  1. I noticed on my verbatims (mcc) that after burning my backed up dvd-rs, there is a skip/pauses, or 'bleep', when playing the movie at a cetrain point. It actually happens to about 3 of my movies now, at roughly the same time. It doesn't skip a frame/scene, but just stops, jerks for a quick second (not even) and continues to play.

Would this be a result of the evil 'bad dye', which I noticed from the light ringed circle in the middle? Should I be worried about this?

I have other media to burn with, and if I remember correctly, if I burn at 2x (instead of 4x) I never notice the light ring in the middle. Not sure why?

    Thanks for any help!

I had somewhat the same problem. I use to burn TDK with perfect results, then I bought some Ridata discs from Newegg. They wouldn't burn at all with BurnatOnce. So I tried Nero 6.0 and the discs would burn finally, but the last third of the movie would break up and sometimes stop.

I tried another DVD burner program, NTI DVD MAKER PLATINUM and now they burn and play perfectly. You can get NTI DVD Maker on a trial at no cost to see if this works. http://www.ntius.com/default.asp?p=download/download_prod&prod=cddvdm6&ver=trial#trial

My point is sometimes it is not always the media, it can be other things in the setup. I did switch to Taiyo Yuden discs and burn at 2x speed because I want my DVD's to last as long as possible since I am building a collection of several hundred and Taiyo Yuden are pretty great.

You could take one of your burned DVD's and test it with Nero CD-DVD Speed. It should show the dropouts. Usually bad media shows problems in the last few minutes of the disc. If that was your problem you could shorten the video file a little to use the remainder of your discs.

I would try different media, though. May be media, burner, software. Sometimes hard to tell.
