I just tore apart an older cpu that I had lying around. It only had a 3.2GB harddrive, which is pointless to put into a cpu now. I was wondering if it is possible to make it into an external harddrive somehow? to store some mp3s, video files and other junk? Can this be done? If so any ideas on how to set it up as an external HD?

Buy an enclosure box for harddrives, you can find all kinds on google.com.As long as you have usb2 or firewire it will run fune,if you use usb 1.1 then it will be really slow.

i cant find any under £30 delivered in the uk and thats ebay its nearer £40 from any online places iv looked at

iv used them when people ask me to set a cdrw or dvdrw up on an old lap top and also it is very useful to have an old 10 gig hard drive in an external enclosure for swapping data between machines or if you need to format

would be very greatful if anyone could post a link of where to get a 5.25" external drive caddy for sub £30 in the uk
