Hello everybody:
There were a few threads on this subject already, but I feel I need more help to figure it out. I have an older version of TMPGEnc. It does have a batch encoding capability, but so far I was unsuccessful in making it work.
In the "File" menu there are two items that refer to the batch encoding
1)Batch Encode (Ctrl+B)
and
"Add current project to batch list"
If I select the second option, it gives me a dialog window similar to a standard Open-Save window, and it gives a list of files I have in my folder with several file types: mpeg, avi, wave, plus several picture formats.
If I select .avi, it prompts me to "Save As" and in this case it is "AVI" or "All Files".
Since I already have it as "AVI", the first option does not seem to make sense. If I select "All Files", do I type "m2v"?
If I go the other route (Ctrl+B), it gives me a batch encode dialog window.
If I select "Run", it starts encoding the file, which was selected prior to going through the batch menus. It does not offer an opportunity to add another file.
If I select "Add", it gives me the options:
"All Job files (*.tpr,*.tbe)"
TMPGEnc Project (*.tpr)
Batch encode list (*.tbe)
All files (*.*)
Since I have no idea of how to make the *.tbe,*.tpr files, I tried to select "All files *.*"
I then select one of my .AVI files to be encoded. But then the warning window pops up - "Illegal stream format".
But when I encode those files one by one, it accepts them.
Please help to figure it out!
thx: walter

Set up a single encode in tmpgenc just like usual. But instead of clicking the button to start encoding you should go to File->Save Project. That's how you get .tpr files. Repeat as necessary. Add all the .tpr's to your batch list and start it.

Thanks a lot, Sterno:
as soon as my main computer will finish encoding, I'll try it. If it works, I would be able to set up a batch list and go to college or to work instead of getting up at night several times to load the next file to encode.
