I wanted to rip my Hong Kong DVD5 of "Iron Monkey", add better subs, and write it to a DVDR. Everything was going great until I opened the video in Subtitle Workshop. I opened using the .vob files off the HDD, but that only brought up about 20 minutes of the movie. When I tried opening the 2nd .VOB file it showed the same timecode as the first and thus displayed the incorrect subtitles.

The subs are a little out of sync so I wanted to adjust them, but without being able to open the full movie I couldn't set the first and last timecode points and have them adjust. I couldn't even adjust them manually past the first 20 minutes of the film.

I tried demuxing the files and opening the m2v file in subtitle workshop, but apparently that file type is not supported. I renamed the m2v file to vob and was able to open the video, which caused 2 problems. The first was that the timecode showed the movie to be half as long as it should be (around 45 minutes), and switching to frame mode just showed "0". The other problem is that it is a bit difficult to sync subs with no sound.

Just to make sure this wasn't an issue with the way that Iron Monkey was authored, I ripped my Korean DVD of "My Sassy Girl" and had the same issues.

I did a lot of searching and checked out subtitle workshop's help files, but nothing seems to address this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I want to do this with a bunch of Hong Kong DVDs I have with bad subtitles.
