Menu buttons do not work

I DVD Decrypted a movie and then used DVD Remake to remove the trailers. When I hit the "play movie" button on the menu, the DVD just stops and I see the splash screen of my DVD Player. If I hit the Play button on my remote, the movie starts just fine. I then went into the menu and hit the Special Feautures button. The list of Special features comes up but when I select one and hit Enter on my remote, the DVD stops again and I see my DVD player's splash screen. Hitting play on my remote will play the movie and not special feature I selected. I know for a fact I didn't remove the special features with Remake so is there something I'm doing wrong. This is the first time this has happened to me and I've "remade" many discs in the past. FWIW, I'm using Maxell 4x DVD-R with my NEC-2500 burner. I'm using DVD Shrink to burn the DVD's
