  1. Is there any SIMPLE 1 step programs to just let me rip the movie part of the DVD straight to an AVI? If so, what is it? And if not, what is the easiest way of doing this? Thanks for your help.

  3. Seconded. Auto Gordian Knot (www.autogk.net) is extremely easy to use, produces great results, and is free. Oh yeah, it's updated frequently, and produces good results compatible t=with the DVP642.

You could try my guide here. It is based around converting individual chapters to AVI but you can use a similar method with a few minor mods.

    disregard everything down to:

In Title > Program Chain > Angle, select the Title, Program Chain and Angle that you require. In the Chapters section, click the none button – this will untick all files.

    ( A part of Step 2).

    Replace this with:
In Title > Program Chain > Angle, select the Title, Program Chain and Angle that you require. In the Chapters section, click the all button – this will tick all files.

...and then follow the rest of the guide.
    If in doubt, Google it.
