  1. Not sure if I've put this in the right section, so apologies if I haven;t. Anyway, for the wedding videos I edit, I always put a photo album slide show thing at the end, and loads of people keep on asking for copies of the photos, so I'm thinking of supplying this as a package with the wedding video itself. The thing is I need to get a decent photo printer (that will ONLY be used to print photos, so doesn't need to be able to do anythign else, like print DVDs, etc) and I was wondering if anyone could either suggest a good quality printer, or know where I could go to get reviews (using google seems to bbring up loads of fake ad sites)? Like I say, the important thing to note is that it won't be used for anythign else, so doesn;t need to have any other features, just be able to print out very good photo which will be the same colour as the digital file, no colour bleeding, overly yellow, etc.

Thanks for any help you can give

Depending on how much you want to spend. The really nice photo printers are dye sublimation printers, but they are a few hundred dollars and up. I have an Epson that I really like. A buddy of mine has a Canon that prints equally well. If I were you I would stick with either the Epson or Canon. Buy their inks and paper, the photo will last longer, or at least that is what I have read. Of course that could be a marketing ploy, who the heck knows. Anyway, some printers come with card readers so that is an option, too. I typically want to tweak my pictures before I print so I didn't buy one with a card reader. I would get a printer with the individual six or seven ink cartridges.

  3. Depends somewhat on what sizes you want to print. There are reasonably priced dye subs that will only print 4x6. If you want size options up to 8.5 x 11/14, I would go with one of the Canon or Epson photo inkjets ($99 to about $199). If you think you may want even larger sizes the Epson 2200 ($600) or Canon i9900 ($500) are excellent and fairly fast. The Epson prints are supposed to be longer lasting, but the Canon prints faster and is less expensive. I have seen the i9900 on ebay for under $450. A printer of that quality would have cost three times that just a few years ago.
