My son was married this weekeng and the church has a complete video system. They recorded the ceremonie in widescreen and gave us the DVD and video tape. The DVD when played on my 4:3 65" Mit. is stretched to fit the screen but the VHS tapes are in widescreen. Can I take the DVD, the quality is much better, and somehow put it back to widescreen format??![]()

65" screen? Wow, lucky you indeed.
How is the video stretched? Horizontally, vertically? Can you see the whole picture (comparing to the VHS) or are parts of the picture missing?
If you have a software player on your computer, try it. It should give you a clue if the video is widescreen or not.
Also check the settings on your DVD player and make sure it's set up for 4:3 display, letterboxed. -
I used Ifoedit095 changed the info in VIDEO_TS.IFO and VTS_01_0.IFO to 16:9, it worked.
Thanks for you help!!
